Chiropractic Manipulation
Chiropractic is a complete system of healthcare focused on restoring, preserving, and optimizing health by natural hands-on care. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the extremities, and headaches. As a chiropractor, Dr. Palladino focuses not only on the disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system but addresses overall health issues, dietary concerns and lifestyle alterations.
Physical Therapy
There are many benefits that physical therapy modalities provide when used in conjunction with chiropractic manipulation. Modalities used by Dr. Palladino include ultrasound; electric stimulation-specifically interferential current, Russian Stim and microcurrent; mechanical traction, heat and cryotherapy, and various types of therapeutic massage. These modalities and techniques help speed up the healing process by increasing blood flow to the injured area, softening scar tissue and reducing swelling, edema and pain.
Sacro-occipital Technique
SOT is a non-force method of chiropractic technique used to alleviate pain without placing undue stress on the joints. This method of chiropractic is effective in balancing and normalizing the relationship between the foundation of the spine and the base of the skull. In addition, the cranial bones and other cranial structures can cause central nervous system problems that are often overlooked or ignored by other chiropractic systems. SOT's gentle "recalibrating" methods uncoil tension held within the body therefore alleviating pain and discomfort.
Scoliosis Management
Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty. Many cases of scoliosis are mild, but some children develop spine deformities that continue to get more severe as they grow. Adults with scoliosis can suffer from significant muscular dysfunction which decreases their ability to have full range of motion within the spine and rib cage. Pain is a usual symptom of scoliosis. Various chiropractic manipulative techniques which balance the structure and release muscular tension are used by Dr. Palladino to help relieve pain and normalize function in the scoliotic patient.
Nutritional Guidance
Good nutrition is of first and foremost importance to a healthy lifestyle. A proper diet along with physical activity can help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease, and achieve overall good health. A healthy diet includes proper nutritional supplementation and periodic cleansing which are most essential for better function. Using organic and all natural supplements from various reputable nutrition based companies, Dr. Palladino offers individualized nutritional guidence for weight loss, digestion issues, and for the revision poor eating habits.
Reiki Healing
According to definition, Reiki is "a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being." As a certified Reiki practitioner, Dr. Palladino uses Reiki energy healing in her practice to help patients balance their energy flow, gain clarity and focus, and work toward eradicating any issues that may block the healing process. Additional techniques like sound and vibrational therapy as well as aromatherapy are also used to encourage a positive energy flow and natural healing. In Dr. Palladino's weekly chakra meditation class, a brief, individualized Reiki healing is given to each patient to demonstrate the nature of this energy work.
